YOUR UNIT. YOUR BELONGINGS. YOUR QUESTIONS.

Condo insurance in Texas

Your condo has its own needs.
Let’s look at the details.

Your association’s policy and your own coverage serve different purposes. Our local office can help you explore insurance for the parts of condo ownership that are yours to protect.

Our agency will review your request and contact you during office hours about quote options and next steps. No obligation to purchase.

START WITH THE ASSOCIATION’S POLICY

See how the coverage fits together.

Condo insurance is often called an HO-6 policy. It works alongside the association’s master policy.

The master policy generally covers the building and shared areas, and may include some interior features. Your responsibilities depend on that policy and the association’s governing documents. Review both before choosing your own coverage.

01

Your unit’s interior

Ask which walls, floors, fixtures or improvements you are responsible for insuring. Consider rebuilding costs for those items rather than assuming your condo’s purchase price is the right coverage amount.

02

Belongings and daily life

Discuss personal property, liability and additional living expenses following a covered loss. An inventory of your belongings can help you consider limits and any special coverage needs.

03

Loss assessment

Ask whether coverage can help with your share of an eligible association assessment. Limits, deductibles and exclusions matter; it does not cover every assessment or association expense.

Coverage availability, limits, deductibles, exclusions and eligibility vary by policy, insurer and state. Condo coverage is written through non-affiliated insurers and secured through GEICO Insurance Agency, LLC.
