COVERAGE TO CONSIDER

Describe the full year, not just the next trip.

Tell us where the RV is kept between trips and how it is used during the year. If you expect to change coverage during storage, ask what that would remove and what needs to happen before the next departure. Do not treat reduced use as automatic policy permission.

Review the RV and the equipment attached to it.

List permanent equipment separately from belongings you carry. Ask how awnings, other attached equipment and personal items are addressed in the quote. Have the model year and ownership records ready when discussing valuation or replacement options.

COVERAGE TO CONSIDER

Ask what help looks like away from home.

For a planned trip, ask about eligible towing services, the destination for a disabled RV and any service limits. If you want protection for interrupted travel, ask what events would qualify and what documentation you would need.

COMMON QUESTIONS

North Dakota
coverage questions.

Does an auto policy’s no-fault section tell me everything about an RV?

No. RV type and use matter. Ask the team to review the specific vehicle and policy, including requirements that apply to a motorhome versus a towable RV.

Does RV insurance replace winterization or maintenance?

No. Keep maintenance and storage plans separate from insurance. Ask about exclusions and duties under the policy rather than assuming damage from any cause will be covered.
